Toilets, tables and chairs, barbecue facilities, shading, bins, signage and CCTV cameras have been installed around the reserve for the benefit of all to use.

Over the past 10 years, the reserve has been upgraded thanks to funding and grants from Moree Plains Shire Council, the state government, and the generosity of a number of local organisations and businesses.

There’s not many places you can come to inland with white sandy beaches. All you need is a pair of swimmers and a fishing line.

Located just 25km east of Moree, on the Inverell road, Gum Flat Recreational Reserve has about 2.5km of river frontage and is open 24/7 for people to come and camp overnight, go fishing, bushwalking, boating, enjoy a picnic or barbecue and just chill out in nature.
